Event Details

DESCRIPTION

The Free Palestine Walks are silent marches to take place in October on behalf of an equitable U.S. policy toward Palestine that advances freedom and equality for the Palestinian people.

The Free Palestine Walks have two major goals:

First, to raise awareness about the situation in Palestine among Americans who will take part in, sponsor and observe the walks, including your family members, friends, neighbors and community members.

And second, to raise funds for a powerful AAPER advertising campaign to be launched in the cities where the Walks took place.

Like AIDS Walks, Breast Cancer Walks, and Freedom Walks during the Civil Rights Movement, the Free Palestine Walks can have a major impact across the United States as we work to advance an equitable U.S. policy toward Palestine that finally advances freedom for the Palestinian people!

REGISTRATION FEES

Before September 30: $15
After September 30: $20

FREE PALESTINE WALK RULES

The Free Palestine Walks are meant to convey only one very simple, clear and highly-focused message -- the Palestinian people are entitled to freedom and equality. To protect the integrity and message of the Walks, AAPER has created and will enforce the following five rules:

1) All walkers must be registered and wear a Free Palestine T-Shirt.

2) No signs, posters or banners (other than the AAPER banner).

3) No chants (the walk is silent).

4) No handouts (other than the provided handout) prior to or during the walk.

5) Walk the assigned route.

Enforcement -- If a person does not follow the rules, a Walk volunteer should ask him or her to leave. If he or she refuses, a Walk organizer or volunteer should ask police officers present to move them to another area.
